THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.
Join us for a special second Vino&Vulvas event on pride weekend! Sept 28th will be our usual Monday night meeting with the topic of "Crossing Forbidden Thresholds". This will be followed up with a SECOND V&V on Saturday night where we get to hear from a new author who has written a story of crossing those thresholds and what that experience was like. There will be a chance to purchase her book at the end as well as time for book signing! It should be a really fun night after a great day at Blue Ridge Pride (where she'll have a booth so make sure you stop in and say Hi!).
Panelist: CD Cain
Host: Heather Edwards
Read a little about her and her book below.
Although CD Cain now loves living in South Georgia, she does miss days spent on the bayou behind her family's home. It was through her daydreams of longing to once again feel her toes dampened in the cool water that characters began to awaken in her mind. She soon realized they weren't going to quiet their chatter in her brain until she gave them life. Thus the Rayne Series was born. Beyond writing, CD enjoys spending time with her partner of twenty-two years, their four year old son, and multiple furbabies. She is the happiest when outdoors either simply relaxing on her porch or camping with her family. She hopes the Chambers of the Heart series connects with her readers by creating characters who make them laugh, remind them of a happy time in their lives, give them renewed strength in trials once faced and conquered or let them bask in the newness of love. She enjoys hearing from her readers so please contact her through: Twitter (@cdcain1019), Facebook (C.d. Cain), Goodreads (Cdcain), E-mail at email@example.com or on her webpage www.cdcainauthor. com. Her next goal is to become a better webpage designer and blogger . . . perhaps after a couple of glasses of a nice smooth red.
When It Raynes
Rayne Amber Storm finds her serenity on the waters of her Louisiana bayou, where she can let her thoughts be her own among the moss-covered cypress trees. Slowly, a gentle, insistent ripple of difference stirs within her. A ripple that leads her away from her mother's Southern Baptist values to thoughts that betray the very core of what she believes is right and wrong.
She leaves the protection of the bayou for medical school and lets the ripple grow until she is knocked unsteady by a powerful wave in the charismatic Samantha LeJeune. But when tragedy strikes back home, the pull of cross currents traps Rayne in what seems an insurmountable struggle between her heart, which now knows the true meaning of happiness, and doing what she has been taught all her life.
Is she strong enough to keep navigating through unfamiliar but thrilling waters or will she give in and paddle down the path of least resistance?
